Hugh Jackman Brought his ‘Laughing Man Coffee’ Company to SXSW 2018 – G’day USA Australia House

G’Day USA is an organization which focuses on promoting Australia in America. The guests at the Australia House enjoyed the world-class coffee from Hugh Jackman’s ‘Laughing Man Cafe.”

Hugh Jackman made an appearance during SXSW 2018 at USA Australia House on Monday, March 12th from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM and talked about ‘Laughing Man’s’ social mission. The panel was called “How Social Entrepreneurs are Inspiring Change: A Conversation with Hugh Jackman and Hugh Evans.”

Hugh Jackman shared with the very lucky guests who had the privilege to get a seat near the actor as space was limited due to the small intimate setting of the USA Australia House located on Rainey Street.  Hugh Jackman shared his inspiration behind ‘Laughing Man Coffee’ and highlighted how the brand brought to life its motto ’Make Every Cup Count” through its support of coffee farming communities around the world.

‘Laughing Man Coffee” started because the Academy Award Nominated, Golden Globe, and Tony Award-winning actor Hugh Jackman traveled in 2009 to Ethiopia to visit a community development project where he met a coffee farmer named Dukale who was working very hard to lift his family out of poverty. Jackman felt Inspired by Dukale’s story and decided launched the ‘ Laughing Man Coffee’ in 2011 to provide a marketplace for farmers in developing countries to sell their goods to consumers in the United States. Hugh Jackman contributes 100% of his profits to the “Laughing Man Foundation,” that he created to support educational programs, community development, and social entrepreneurs around the world. Hugh Jackman made a promise to his Ethiopian friend and coffee farmer Dukale and his family.
