Global Gaming Expo in October 2024 Sets New Attendance Record in Las Vegas

The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) attracted more than 25,000 attendees topping the 2023 attendance of nearly 25,000. This year’s Expo featured nearly 400 exhibitors representing 17 countries. The annual event, presented by The American Gaming Association, was held in October 2024 in Las Vegas at the Venetian Expo.

The American Gaming Association is the premier national trade group for the gaming industry. The G2E fosters a business climate where the legalized gaming industry convenes to present innovations and market their goods.

In Las Vegas, the word on the floor of the expo was that the gaming industry is booming. Total revenue for 2024 is projected at $360 billion dollars with an expected compounded annual growth rate of 13.2%. The mood on the expo floor was positive. Slot machine manufacturers dominated the floor space, but there is a lot more to a casino than slot machines. Companies marketing table games, data processing software, and sports betting platforms were present. 

There were several take aways from the Expo. The gaming industry is alive and doing well. This writer noted that there is an increasing trend toward more systems for cashless gaming.

My partner Dianne and I visited several exhibitors in order to learn more about them. Here are some observations

Lsports collects and analyzes enormous amounts of sports data. According to Gal Brand, head of sales this data is fed to their customers, especially sports betting companies. The data helps them to make more accurate decisions when setting betting odds.

Knockout 52 is a new table game that is not related to blackjack or Pai gow poker. Peter Mastroinni, the inventor, explained that the game is presently being played at Foxwood Casino in Connecticut and will shortly be introduced at select Las Vegas Casinos. The table has spaces for four rounds of 13 cards(52). A player has to bet during which round the dealt card matches the card on the table. The game is simpler than it sounds and should be fun to play.

Everi Holdings is both a financial services company and a game manufacturer. The financial services group offers its customers a comprehensive suite of financial service tools tht enable secure transactions. By using their service customers can remotely transfer funds from their personal account to a casino. They even enable the use of bitcoins.

Konami Gaming is headquartered in Japan. As a result it offers many Asian themed slots such as Fortune Mint and Mystical Pearl. Their newest slot machine is called bingo frenzy. Yes, the face looks like a bingo card.

Novomatic is an Austrian based company, They featured a slot machine that is suitable for couples with a wide luxury chair. A player can sit in a soft comfortable chair, have a drink, and push buttons while he watches his money disappear.

Aroma Impressions provides fragrances to casinos. They can compound fragrances to neutralize any foul smells on the casino floor, The goal is to provide a pleasant experiences so customers will remain in the casino and spend their money.

This immense yearly Expo has everything for the gaming industry. Besides the exhibits, there was a continuous series of lectures to fill you in on everything you want or need to know about working in or managing the gaming industry. Attendees are encouraged to try out the latest machines which fill the convention floor. And to make it a most pleasurable experience, the hardware is set to make the visitors winners with bells and whistles proclaiming their wins. If only we were rewarded with more than just the bells and whistles!

G2E returns to Las Vegas in October 2025. We always look forward to seeing what is new in the industry.
