There are countless reasons to visit Las Vegas, and food and sports are at the top of the list. The options can be overwhelming, but pairing the two in an equally glorious combination isn’t always easy. General Admission, located at Uncommons, is the one-stop spot that will make you a fan of their venue regardless of whether you are looking for a unique menu, a perfect setting to watch a game, or both.

Las Vegas is known for so many things, from entertainment, gambling, some of the best restaurants in the world and now they have became known for sports as much as anything else. The world of live sports continues to grow in Las Vegas, but with so many games being televised daily, the ability to take in game after game surrounded by televisions is as much Las Vegas as attending any live game. General Admission has created a setting that surrounds you with so many televisions you will never miss a snap, pitch or punch. They have a seat for you at the bar, table or on their patio and for every big game they pipe in the sound so you get the full experience. The setting is one thing, but General Admission has every big event that you are looking for. They have all the biggest college games, the Sunday Ticket so you don’t miss your favorite local NFL team and of course being Las Vegas, they will bring you the biggest UFC pay-per-views. When you walk through the front doors and the perfectly designed and stylish setting hits your eyes, you know you have entered a sports viewing heaven.

The games might get you in the door, but debating between all that General Admission has to offer, It isn’t easy to determine which part of General Admission to admire first. A great menu will always appease any guest, so if you happen to want to visit General Admission for a meal and aren’t interested in sports, the wide-ranging list of options and the fact that everything is incredible make this as much of a restaurant first as it does a sports bar. Executive Chef Eder came to General Admission and made the menu his own, creating his unique takes on several dishes while serving up some classic dishes as you would expect. When it comes to a menu that has something for everything, the General Admission menu is just that.

Chef Eder keeps his menu close to one page, but each dish is done right, so you know whatever your order, you are going to enjoy it. Starters and watching a game are the perfect pairing and you are going to find jumbo wings, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas and nachos are all done right, but there is one appetizer that steals the show, the Tokyo Tots. This is a large bowl of perfectly crispy tater tots that are smothered in three different Japanese sauces that give you layer after layer of flavor in each bite and is truly the only way to start off your General Admission experience. Moving on to the entrees you can enjoy a classic Smashburger, a spicy rigatoni with Italian sausage that would make any Italian restaurant envious. Fresh pasta and a very powerful sauce make this dish a must. You can add chicken tenders to your spicy rigatoni and trust me that really shouldn’t be an option, you simply need to add them. The term chicken tenders does not do this justice, whether you enjoy them as an appetizer or with your pasta. The chicken breast is perfectly prepared, but it is Chef Eder’s General Admission breading that he creates in-house that covers the chicken with a light and not overwhelming batter, but yet gives this big magical crunch with each bite. This is really the chicken tender you have been looking for all of your life. General Admission also has some great healthy options, including an assortment of unique salads, a breakfast and brunch menu and a kids menu.

Fresh sushi might not come to mind when you walk into this sports lounge, but the freshness and flavor come through every time. You will find the classic California Roll and a Tuna Tostada Crudo, but the two rolls that are flavor explosions and live up to their names are the Godzilla Crunch Roll and King Kong Krab Roll. The Godzilla Crunch Roll combines spicy tuna, yum yum sauce, serrano chilies, eel sauce and crunchy rice, just to get started and you get hit with a plethora of great flavors in every bite.

General Admission has a stunning bar to grab a seat at to enjoy the game and they make sure the cocktails and beer live up to the appearance of that bar. The specialty cocktails on the menu have some clever sports-related names, but it is their great flavors that will keep you ordering them. Each cocktail is unique in its own way, but some of the highlights would have to be the “Red Zone”, which is a flavorful, fruity and powerful drink made with Bombay Sapphire Gin, strawberry and lemon juice, and the “Touchdown” with Crown Royal, ginger beer, fresh lime juice and mint. The creativity continues with an assortment of margaritas that go well beyond the ordinary drink that you find elsewhere. General Admission also has a great tap beer list that is always rotating and also includes local Las Vegas breweries. General Admission also has one of the best happy hours in all of Las Vegas, weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring an assortment of food deals and $5 draft beers, well drinks, house wines and mimosas.

If you are traveling to Las Vegas, you are going to find General Admission a short ride from the strip or if you are at the recently opened Durango, it is a short walk across the street. However you get there, General Admission is worth a little bit of a detour and is one of those places that once you visit, you know you will be back. If you are in Los Angeles, you can also find a General Admission with the same quality and sports setting just minutes from Universal Studios.

Las Vegas is home to glitz and glamor and countless choices when it comes to, well almost anything. It isn’t hard to find something sparkly out of the corner of your eye that will draw you in and often for a one-time visit that leaves you longing for more. General Admission is that spot that has a beautiful Las Vegas look and backs it up with everything else. You are going to find a local bar feel with that small-town inviting aspect to it that appeals to local guests as well as tourists and a menu that is high and quality and prices that are very un-Vegas like. Watching sports is one reason to stop in, but you will quickly find after one visit, sports is far from the only reason that makes General Admission a memorable visit anytime you are in Las Vegas.
