Spring Awakening Fest Review – Only Good Vibes

Spread the love

Over three full days the electronic music festival Spring Awakening was so jam packed with music from over 90 artists on five unique stages, with art installations, dance tents, carnival rides and a silent disco…there was so much happening it is hard to recap all that went down.  But here is our attempt of the best moments with photos to back it up:

GOOD VIBES

PLUR

Spring Awakening exhibits the PLUR attitude which is Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.  The new Spring Awakening location was 27 acres of land and no where within the grounds was anyone having a bad time.

THE MUSIC

Griz incorporated playing the saxophone during his headlining set

The line-up at Spring Awakening was killer. This year’s impressive line-up included Grammy-award winning producer ZEDDTwo FriendsYellow ClawZomboy, Griz (pictured above) as well as many others filled the air with infectious sounds. There was no downtime in-between sets, so there was nothing to do but dance the day away.

MORE THAN MUSIC

The Solstice Stage was an engineering marvel

Spring Awakening Music Festival featured stunning stage production, interactive art installations, carnival rides and great eats.

FASHION

How to describe the fashion at Spring Awakening?  Well, if you are wearing a lot of clothes, you will stick out. There is more skin here than at the beach plus tutus, feathers, sparkles, and glitter. Lots of glitter.  Anything goes, as long as you can dance your ass off in it.  The styles at Spring Awakening are an attraction onto themselves.

HEAD BANGERS

Don’t let any of your rock friends tell you that only they can head bang.  There was tons of head-banging on during sets by Zomboy, DJ Snake, Space Jesus among many others.

BIGGEST SURPRISE

When Matthew Russell of Cheat Codes got up to spray the crowd with champagne, he’s the one that got sprayed – by the chilly smoke cannon behind him.

ART

There were many art installations on the Spring Awakening grounds where you watch the artist create their masterpieces. Some of them, like the one above, you could actually become the art yourself.

HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES

Are you kidding me? Festival goers hitched a ride in a hot air balloon to get a Birdseye look at the festival.

HEADLINERS

Despite the disappointment that Martin Garrix had to drop-out due to injury, the headliners still put on epic sets.  From Zedd on Friday, to DJ Snake on Saturday to Griz on Sunday – the headliners put a exclamation point on the festivities and truly woke up the Spring Awakening crowd.
