Recently NYC was spread with nothing but cheer for the NYC Pride! This year the pride took place on Pride Island for a three-day cultural experience – to join the community, spread love and unity, and remind each other that we are all one! There is no better feeling than walking through the glitter lined streets and feeling the energy that is so contagious during Pride Week! Pride Week is a celebration to make positive strides to continue to educate, commemorate, and celebrate the LGBTQ community!
There were many events happening over the course of the festival such as pop-singer duo Tegan & Sara, Deborah Cox, and Nelly Furtado taking over Pride Week, Reyka Vodka was there serving amazing beverages through it all!
As the official vodka of NYC Pride, Reyka Vodka gave attendees the chance to win a trip to Iceland by snapping a photo and tagging Reyka Vodka. Supporting the LGBTQ community has always been important to Reyka Vodka. Being made in Iceland and made of Iceland, Reyka Vodka proudly embodies the provenance and the people of its native country and Iceland has long been a leader in the LGBTQ movement. Iceland was the first country to have an openly gay head of government with the election of former Prime Minister, Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir.
Champion skier, Gus Kenworthy, celebrated with Reyka Vodka at Pride Island on Sunday, June 25th. The Sunday event is the iconic closing event for NYC Pride. The crowd enjoyed Reyka Vodka cocktails and danced to the sounds of DJ Scott Martin, DJ Cindel, Chus & Ceballos. Grammy Award-Winning singer and songwriter, Nelly Furtato, headlined the evening which closed with the traditional firework display.
Thanks to all of the sponsors who made NYC Pride a success: T-Mobile, Village Voice, Village Apothecary, Diet Coke, Target, Hilton, Kiehl’s, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and more.
